In case you didn’t know, we offer chemical products storage. But what does chemical products storage mean? Well, do not worry because if you did not know, we will explain it to you in this post.
What is chemical products storage?
In Spain, APQ stands for “Almacenamiento de Productos Químicos”, meaning Storage of Chemical Products. The APQ regulation refers to the regulatory framework by which companies whose activity includes storage, loading, unloading or transport of chemical products that imply some type of risk, whether in their liquid or gaseous state, must be governed.
And it is that for this, there are a series of legal obligations associated with the warehousing of chemical products in our logistics center. The most important of these obligations is the Commissioning procedure, which must be issued by the competent Administration.
Since the Spanish state is the only member in the Eropean Union that has a Regulation for the Storage of Chemical Products (also known as the APQ Regulation), this regulation is provided for in Royal Decree 656/2017.
This regulation affects the storage of products such as:
- flammable and combustible liquids
ethylene oxide
chlorine
anhydrous ammonia
cylinders and bottles of liquefied and dissolved compressed gases under pressure
corrosive liquids
toxic liquids
fertilizers
organic peroxides
The procedure to follow will vary in each case. It will depend on the quantity stored and/or the chemical product involved.
